Groupon Deal: Cafe de Paradiso at Tradehub

Date visited: 6 Nov 2012

The deal: $10 for $20 worth of food. Excludes beverages specifically.

We ordered:

(Western) Baked Rice Mushroom & Mock Chicken $7.90

Not bad.

(Western) Side Dish Osaka Yaki $7.90

At first, we did not discover the mock meat underneath. It made it taste a lot better. I’d prefer more mayo.

(Chinese) Crispy Cereal Mock Shrimp (S) $10.00

This was actually done well taste-wise. Unfortunately, when we were halfway through the plate, we discovered a shiny sliver of plastic (soft, like those on packaging for food). We sent it back and they redid the dish (we requested just the same portion, the half, as we knew we couldn’t eat another full-sized dish even though we liked it)

(Beverage) Bio Water 2 x $0.50

Our mistake. We should have asked if they charged for water. I don’t remember seeing it on the menu, but I can’t be sure.

Side note:

We were a little disturbed by the body odour on at least one waiter. We gave feedback through Groupon. Seriously, I would err on the side of caution and enforce a deodorant rule. Baking soda is cheap and natural. Use it!

Tip: a friend found she was sensitive to baking soda directly dusted on, but tried just using some drops of water to make it into a paste before using, and now it works just fine for her.
